The falafel restaurant Hashem is located in the downtown area of Amman and is considered one of the best places to enjoy falafel; a traditional dish from Jordan. The menu features a set selection of Jordanian dishes, all of which are well-loved for their wholesome, good quality flavours. With a long history in the city, the basic furnishings and experienced chef give the restaurant an unmatched richness of flavour that makes it a favourite with locals and tourists alike.
Original & delicious! Very good place to come for local food. Place is a bit rough on the corners, but food is excellent. Falafel was best, they do it fresh on-site. Service is there just to get you food- on the rude side but efficient and everything works. Great experience!đ

A traditional fast food joint.Food: The food is in par with the Jordanian expectations I must say. Not much to choose but whatever available all are very good.Service: There is no special service here, as they aim to fill in maximum people in lesser time, you have to be in and out asap. They prepare your table, give you a sheet to order where you tick the menu. They take it and they serve you.Atmosphere: Located right in the heart of the old city, filled with tourists and locals alike.Price: I remember it being average priced same as you would find in Dubai

Great option if you are around Amman downtown. The prices are incredibly affordable and the food quality could not be better! The food is simple but so delicious. The service was super fast and the staff there were very nice. We went two times and could not recommend it more!

If you want to eat like a local then this is the place to go.The restaurant reminds me of long standing greasy spoon cafes back home - pretty basic, but itâs somewhere you go for the food and not the fancy decor.Hashemâs was super busy when I visited, I waited for a table to become free and sat down. The waiters put a thin plastic sheet on the table (for quick and easy clearance) and take your order. There arenât any menus but I could see what people were eating, so I ordered falafel with hummus and fries.Service was quick and the food was delicious. Excellent value for money too. When itâs time to pay you ask for your ticket and take it to the pay kiosk.Toilets are up the stairs and to the left.Highly recommended.

Nice falafels, crunchy and light. Hummus and foul were good too. We also enjoyed the tea. No menu. Just find a table as someone will come over to help you order food. You then pay at the counter in the middle of the restaurant when you're ready to go.

Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. Fair prices too.Every member of staff was welcoming and friendly except one. Unfortunately this unfriendly one was serving me. (I think he didnât like tourists).

Very over rated place , if the service improved you would got a better falafel place in Amman , the bad service turn all the good taste to rubbish... And contraversa , good service can turn bad taste to better ... In this restaurant you feel the frustration of the employees and they reflect this while throwing the dishes to your table and delaying the tea service or even not bringing at all or making big issue when asking for sugar etc. Either they are unpaid or forced to work there ... Can't understand this behavior... This should be very famous and the service should be in line with the quality of the food , you would expect a smile or nice word , but you get happy not been beaten by the stuff ... Shame ....

Hashem Restaurant, located in downtown Amman, is one of the most well known of all local food restaurants in the city. This restaurant was visited by almost everyone who was in Amman, including the royal family. For a tourist, it may not be a nice restaurant at first glance, but the food here is really delicious and you eat it in the style of the locals.

I was bit sceptical of coming here as the restaurant has "only" four stars, but I'm glad I did.The food was very good, with an amazing and fast service and for a reasonable price. They do not have menu, so just choose something from the picture, or get the traditional hummus which is amazing here.Definitely recommend to get local food and get a taste of a local culture with it.

When in Rome be a Roman in Jordan if Hashem was good for the Royal family its good enough for me. I loved the whole experience there. I loved the local flavor that the food had.The food was great and delicious the place was packed with people. It was served quickly and waiter was great . Great food at a great price. The humus texture was fantastic . The falafel was cooked in fresh oil.

I love the lively vibe and atmosphere. As soon as I walked in, the restaurant was buzzing with activities, loud, and people waiting for an open table. There's no organization at all, but that's part of the attraction.I heard so many good things about this place. It's highly recommended by my Airbnb host. Even my taxi driver said it's good Jordanian food.Fast, rich, tasty, popular with the locals and tourists. It's cheap and won't break your budget. I love the falafel and hummus with meat.

Heard from our uber driver that this is the place to eat at. So we came here after visiting the landmarks of the city. We walked in, got seated and the waiter asked us what we wanted. We got Baba Ghanoush to start. Then we got bread, falafels with some tomatoes and mint on the side. For a drink we got hot tea. All the food was really good and it was much more filling that we thought. Also this meal was extremely extremely affordable so overall just an amazing food experience and lunch, would recommend to anyone who wanted to try authentic local food.

Great and fresh food at Jordan prices. It is a must stop in Amman if you want great fresh food at any time. The falafel are amazing, but to be host we were speechless about the hummus, they add a nice squeeze of lemon which really brings it to all another level. It is very busy but they serve very fast. Full of locals and they treat everybody the same.I read some comments and to be honest if someone wants a western standards service, there are places in Amman, just be ready to pay much much more.I recommend it for an authentic experience and really good fresh food.

I recently visited Hashem Restaurant in downtown Amman, a spot that's steeped in history and truly a part of Old Amman's charm. This place is always buzzing with activity, reflecting its popularity and authentic vibe. Yes, it is very crowded, and you should expect to wait at least 10 minutes for a table, but the experience is well worth it. The prices are quite reasonable, which makes it accessible for everyone looking to enjoy a good meal without breaking the bank. The food, classic Jordanian cuisine, is consistently delicious and served quickly despite the crowd. The bustling atmosphere only adds to the authenticity, allowing diners to soak in the vibrant energy of Amman. It's not just a meal; it's a dive into the history and heart of the city. Overall, Hashem Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience a piece of Amman's history along with some great food.

Very specific place . Surely , locals like it as few people recommended us this place. The waiters donât speak English very well. The prices are very low. As soon as you sit they bring bread and veggies , that is really cool. In general , for fast and cheap eating is the right place.

The first day I reached Amman I went there and guess what?! great taste, delicious and warm authentic Jordanian cuisine! Most of all they accepted sterling pounds because I hadn't even changed money at that time! Very cheap and worth the money. Many locals are inside! The staff is friendly; some of them speak good English and understand us! This is the best restaurant in Amman for me!Especially this guy who's in the picture is amazing! I gave him a tip but he refused :( I wish the managers will increase their wages because they are exceptional

My dining experience at this restaurant was an authentic immersion into local culture. As one of the few tourists there, I found myself surrounded by the vibrant essence of Middle Eastern life. The food was nothing short of delightful, offering traditional flavors that locals cherish. It was a privilege to enjoy such culinary authenticity, feeling a connection with the traditions and tastes of the region. The atmosphere was magical, reminiscent of a lively Middle Eastern market. The loud and bustling environment might not be for everyone, but for me, it added to the charm and authenticity of the experience. It was like being transported to another world, one where I was not just a visitor, but a part of the local tapestry. In summary, if you're seeking a true taste of local life with all its vibrancy and flavor, this is the place to be. It's an experience that celebrates the heart and soul of Middle Eastern culture. Highly recommended for those looking to embrace the local way of life!

Itâs not just any Falafel đ§ & Hummus place. Itâs probably One of the Best Iâve ever been to!Jordanian friend took us for dinner and I wasnât really expecting much with âfalafelâ dinner but it exceeded expectations. The hummus is so creamy, falafel is fresh and crunchy. Even the âFul/foulâ is really good even though Iâm not a big fan of Fava beans.

*Cash only!* Pretty casual spot and convenient that it's open 24/7! When you go you'll be seated, they'll put a plastic cover over your table, and give you an order paper form to check off what you want. Eggplant hummus was okay, but their regular hummus was the best I ever had - very lemony which I love! Affordable prices. Just note again that they only accept cash and also the bathroom is a bit outside of the building through a side door which was a little confusing to get to.
