Bondi to Coogee might be a bit far for tiny feet, so skip ahead and start at Bronte instead. This iconic coastal walk spans approximately 2.5 km and offers stunning ocean views, rock pools to explore, and plenty of opportunities for kids to play in the sand. Start at Bronte Beach, and if weather allows, have a splash at the semi-sheltered ‘Bogey Hole’ at the far right corner of the beach, or in the sea water swimming pool. As you follow the coastal path towards Coogee, make sure to stop by Clovelly Beach, where children can enjoy the adjacent playground, perfect for a quick break and some fun in the sun. Further along, Gordon's Bay awaits with its tranquil waters and vibrant marine life, and you can snorkel or paddle in the bay's calm waters. Arriving at Coogee Beach, enjoy a well-deserved picnic on the grassy foreshore or tuck into an ice cream from one of the beachside cafes.

With its flat, pram-friendly paths and abundant recreational facilities, including bike hire and horse riding, Centennial Parklands in the Eastern Suburbs offers families the perfect opportunity to run around and burn some energy close to the city. Covering about 3.5 km, the Grand Drive Circuit walk loops around Centennial Parklands features wide-open spaces, playgrounds, ponds with cute ducks, and plenty of grassy areas for picnics and play. One of our all time faves, this 4 km walk has it all - panoramic harbor vistas, historic military sites, gorgeous bushland and secluded beaches. Begin your adventure at Bradley's Head, and as you follow the well-marked path, winding through native bushland and coastal cliffs, be sure to keep an eye out for birdlife and perhaps even a passing whale during migration season. Arrive at Chowder Bay, where you'll be greeted by charming waterfront cafes, historic naval buildings, and pristine beaches.

With a manageable distance and captivating scenery, the Hermitage Foreshore Walk promises a memorable outing. This 1.8 km walk kicks off at Bayview Hill Road and combines tranquil bushland with unbelievable water views. As you follow the path towards Nielsen Park, keep your camera at the ready to snap pics of the rock formations along the shoreline. You’ll also pass the historic 19th century Strickland House and Milk Beach, one of Sydney's best kept secrets.

No visit to Sydney is complete without a ferry ride and stroll around Manly for the ultimate vay-cay vibes. This walk is more of a potter around than a hardcore walk, and is ideal for those with strollers. Begin at the Visitors Centre, and head north towards Queenscliff Beach along the buzzy promenade. When you hit Queenscliff Beach at the end, there’s Manly Lagoon Park Playground, where you can let the little ones loose. Head back the way you came, and this time you’re walking towards Shelly Beach, where you’ll find the delightful Fairy Bower Rockpool where you can take a dip before stopping for a well-deserved bite at The Boathouse Shelly Beach café.
